10/18/20 - The OG Dip Crawl
1) The Courtney Room: "Squash Dip"
The Squash Dip was an admittedly delightful start to the Dip Crawl, though in a sense we also have to blame the Squash Dip for this entire website's existence. The Squash Dip was essentially the prequel to the OG Dip Crawl - it set us up to crave more dippin’, so we dipped out still wanting to dip in. Hyped on this dip, and because we are unclassy Dipsters, we will admit that we were unsure if we were meant to dip the lovely harvest vegetable garnishes as well. We did, of course, because we were three hungry girls at this point with leftover dip (and a radish slice is basically just soil's chip anyway - if it can be dipped, it will be dipped). If this was not the intention behind the radishes, please accept our apologies for missing the memo and potentially encouraging others to dip them as well.
Dipsters' Assessment: Blame this delicious dip for everything that's happened here since. Also, it’s worth dipping the garnish so no regrets.
2) Earls: "Spinach Artichoke Dip"
Whether you care to admit it or not, you know this dip. There's really no point in describing it. What we will note, though, are the dippables in the equation. We were surprised that Earls offered up additional bread and chips at no charge to make the most of our dippin' situation, but it's hard to say whether this is standard policy or in response to us loudly discussing starting a website based solely on local dip-spots. If Earls isn't the first stop on your Dip Crawl, we would suggest skipping the bread and going straight for those fresh, crispy chips.
Dipsters' Assessment: One hot chip in one cold dip.
3) Tapa Bar: "Chorizo Fondue"
Listen. We did this Dip Crawl in the complete opposite order than the universe called for. While we absolutely recommend dipping in for this Queso, doing so this late in the Crawl will leave you desperate to dip out. For anyone a bit sensitive to spice, this is a dip to hit lightly... dip a toe in before going for that deep dippin'. The Dipsters had already consumed far too much cheese by this point and struggled with the richness, so we'd suggest slotting this dip-spot in early.
Dipsters' Assessment: Hard-hittin' for a deep dippin'.
